Yang Simplified 8 Form (Front View Plus Rear View)

The name of this video is “Two people mirror Tai Chi form 8.” Two people are showing the form, one with a rear view, and one with a front view that is mirrored so that movements are in the direction the participant is experiencing. There are slight differences in this interpretation of the form compared to how we do it. For example, they go a full 90 degrees to the left and right for “Brush Knee and Push” and “Part the Wild Horse’s Mane.”

Yang Simplified 8 Form (Rear View)

Snake Creeps Down, Golden Rooster

Snake Creeps Down is one of the most challenging moves in the Yang 24 Form, but remember that it’s not a requirement to go low in the stance. In the following video, Master Yang Jun illustrates the movement and discusses common errors. Master Jun is a descendant of the original Yang family and is an official 5th generation direct-line inheritor of Yang Family Tai Chi Chuan.
