Free Introduction to Tai Chi and Qigong, Wednesday, March 22, 6:45-7:45pm
This session is part of a special Lenten series of workshops being held at First Christian Church of Stow, 3493 Darrow Road, Stow Ohio.
In this session we will cover topics such as:
- What are the differences and commonalities between Tai Chi and Qigong?
- What are some of the health benefits from practicing Tai Chi and Qigong?
- What is Qi?
- Since Tai Chi is a martial art, if you study Tai Chi do you have to practice the martial art aspects?
- Tai Chi has been described as moving meditation, and Qigong makes use of meditation. How might these arts integrate with our spiritual practices?
- How are Tai Chi and Qigong so good at enhancing the body/mind connection?
- What are the best ways to reduce stress? Improve balance? Address specific health concerns?
We’ll practice some very simple exercises from both Tai Chi and Qigong to give participants a flavor of these exercises. No experience is necessary, and there’s no need to pre-register. I hope to see you there! 🙂
