I’m happy to share a new offering that has been quietly taking shape over the past year: Seated Chi Flow™.
This program grew out of a simple but persistent question I hear again and again in my work:
“What can I do when standing practice feels like too much?”
For many people — especially those living with pain, fatigue, balance challenges, or limited mobility — traditional movement practices can feel inaccessible. Even well-intentioned advice to “listen to your body” often assumes a body that already feels safe to move.
Seated Chi Flow™ was created to meet people exactly where they are.
What is Seated Chi Flow™?
Seated Chi Flow™ is a gentle, fully seated Tai Chi and Qigong practice designed to support:
-
Ease and comfort in daily movement
-
Healthy circulation and energy flow
-
Nervous system regulation
-
Sustainable, pain-free practice over time
Everything is done from a chair.
There is no floor work, no strain, and no expectation to push or perform.
Most practices are about 10 minutes long, making them easy to integrate into real, lived days.
Why seated practice matters
Seated practice is often misunderstood as a “lesser” version of movement work. In reality, it offers some unique advantages:
-
Reduced load on joints and the spine
-
Greater safety for balance and fatigue
-
Increased sensitivity to breath, internal sensation, and subtle movement
-
A more direct pathway to calming the nervous system
For many people, seated practice isn’t a compromise — it’s an entry point into deeper awareness and healthier movement patterns.
How the program works
Seated Chi Flow™ is offered as an ongoing weekly practice:
-
Each week includes a short guided video practice
-
A simple one-page PDF accompanies each session with key cues and reminders
-
Practices build gradually, without pressure to “keep up”
There’s also a growing archive, so participants can revisit earlier sessions whenever they wish.
Quarterly live sessions are included as well, offering an opportunity to practice together and explore seasonal themes.
Who this is for
This program may be especially supportive if you:
-
Live with chronic pain or stiffness
-
Experience fatigue or limited endurance
-
Are recovering from injury or illness
-
Want a gentle, sustainable practice you can do consistently
-
Prefer a calm, non-performative approach to movement
No prior experience with Tai Chi or Qigong is required.
A different pace, by design
One of the guiding principles of Seated Chi Flow™ is this:
Doing less is often what helps the most.
There is no goal to master forms or achieve a particular result. The invitation is simply to notice, to move within comfort, and to allow change to happen at its own pace.
