Dog Assists with Tai Chi Practice!

Tai Chi practice helps us in so many different ways. For example, it helps us to improve our structural alignment and gain the ability to direct force through the ground.

And your dog can even help you with this practice! 🙂

In the accompanying fun video, Tai Chi instructor Susan Thompson plays tug-of-war with her dog. First, she demonstrates the “old way,” before learning Tai Chi, and you’ll notice how her dog is able to pull her around.

Next, she demonstrates the “new way,” after learning Tai Chi, and you’ll see how she effortlessly remains stable in her posture. This stability comes about through proper structural alignment (things like suspending the head, dropping the shoulders, promoting a long spine, etc.).

I’m sure that many dogs would enjoy assisting with this training! 🙂 In fact, I know two dogs at my house that like this drill.
